Areas of Specialist Experience
Katherine’s background in an NHS psychological therapies service provided her with specialist experience in working with adults affected by stress, anxiety, low mood and depression.
Following her work in an integrative cancer care charity, she developed a particular interest in the psychological impact of managing physical health diagnoses and treatments. Katherine recognises the powerful relationship between mind and body, taking an holistic approach to health and psychological wellbeing, particularly in the face of major life events.
Therapeutic Approach
Katherine draws on various aspects of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness-based approaches.
She integrates these approaches in a tailored way for each individual, fully recognising the central importance of the relationship between therapist and client. All of this happens in what aims to be a safe and collaborative conversation; one which honours the experience of the client, and nurtures their ability to connect to their own wisdom and awareness.
